President’s Message
March 1, 2021

Greetings:

It is a well-known fact that everyone wants to be heard. We all seek the sense of belonging that comes when our thoughts, ideas, concerns, and suggestions are recognized and valued by those around us. Although it can be difficult to examine ourselves and open ourselves up to the critique that comes from inviting others to share their honest thoughts, the results are well worth it. In the professional world, an organizational posture of open communication facilitates positive culture and climate, improved morale, increased productivity, and better outcomes.

Prince George’s Community College is in the process of developing our FY22+ Strategic Plan, which will allow us to identify our most important work as we position the College beyond the height of the pandemic for the next 3 – 5 years. One of the most significant assessment tools the College will use to inform our Strategic Plan is our Stakeholder Survey, and I invite you to participate as a valued member of our extended College community.

The survey presents an opportunity for both our internal and external audiences to make their voices heard and participate in the dialogue that will be instrumental to our efforts to take the College from where we are to where we want to be, thereby amplifying our impact locally and regionally. The survey seeks your perspective on Prince George’s Community College’s mission, future direction, strengths, and areas for growth. It is one of our attempts as a College to open ourselves up to honest exchange.

Your participation in the anonymous survey, which should take approximately 15 minutes to complete, has the potential to influence the direction of Prince George’s Community College for years to come. I invite you to complete the Stakeholder Survey by 5 p.m. EST on March 12, 2021. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact SPDP@pgcc.edu. The survey is integrated with Google Translate and available in multiple languages.

Thank you in advance for your time and input. Your partnership continues to help us realize the remarkable outcomes that will improve overall quality of life, stimulate economic recovery, and remind us of our responsibility to leave the world a better place than we found it. We are proud to serve alongside you in this important work as we shape the vision for the type of community we can become – together.

Sincerely,

Falecia D. Williams, Ed.D.

President

How to participate in a short survey?

Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to service during these unprecedented times. The Prince George’s County Council Re-Entry Advisory Board is developing a comprehensive list of organizations that serve Prince George’s County residents who have transitioned, or are currently transitioning, to the community from incarceration. To ensure we have a comprehensive list of reentry service providers, we are requesting all organizations that provide services to returning citizens complete our short survey by February 28, 2021.

The Board is seeking to understand more about your program and the services that you provide in order to identify gaps in the County and ultimately develop a comprehensive reentry strategy for Prince George's County.

This survey is designed to help the Prince George’s County Council Re-Entry Advisory Board identify all organizations providing services to Prince George’s County returning citizens, identify gaps in services for Prince George’s County returning citizens while developing a current list of reentry service providers.
